Technology Education is a site where people can come to find information about technology education. We encourage everyone to know how to appropriately safeguard his or her privacy when exploring the Internet. To this end we are fully committed to supporting the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. Our information collection practices are described below. We urge visitors to check with their parent or guardian before entering any information on any web site and we urge parents and guardians to discuss with their children restrictions regarding the online release of personal information to anyone they don't know.

What Information Do We Collect?

Our policy is to create web site content that requires minimal collection of information from our visitors, specifically no personal information when navigating the basic site. However, Technology Education occasionally may request limited personal information, as explained below, in order to complete a request or task, or to conduct a sweepstakes or contest. We do not make disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary as a condition for participation.

Contests and Sweepstakes

Those who are eligible for sweepstakes entry can enter online to win prizes by providing minimal personal information. All the information collected by Technology Education during the conduct of a contest or sweepstakes is used only for the purpose of conducting the contest or sweepstakes. The information collected in our contest or sweepstakes may be used to contact entrants about events associated with the contest or sweepstakes for which they submitted their personal information. Entrants may be notified of the start of similar contests or sweepstakes, the posting of winners' lists, prize award ceremonies, and pictures posted associated with these events. All entrants may "opt-out" of this notification practice. Those who opt-out will have their personal information removed from the database upon completion of the contest or sweepstakes.

Teacher Survey/Order Materials

Those teachers who are eligible can request our free Technology Education materials via our online order form. All the information collected by Technology Education is used for the purpose of shipping the free materials to their school. The information collected may be used to contact teachers about events associated with Technology Education for which they submitted their personal information. All teachers may "opt-out" of this notification practice.

Other E-mail Requests

From time to time Technology Education conducts contests, sweepstakes, and other promotions that may be of interest to friends and acquaintances of our visitors. As a service to our visitors Technology Education may offer to send an e-mail that informs others about a particular contest, sweepstakes, or promotion on behalf of a visitor. Information gathered for this purpose is only used for this purpose and deleted after the e-mail is sent. Data are gathered about the number of requests without linking the data to specific requests. If you no longer wish to receive Technology Education e-mail updates, please e-mail us at removeemail@teched101.com.
